Lab Assistant

A local research workspace, before the installer.

Lab Assistant is an engineering-stage desktop application intended to help researchers plan, run, and read computational biology work while keeping ordinary workspace data local. Account licensing exists; a signed installer and a supported production release do not yet.

Current truth

What exists today

Local application code

A macOS engineering codebase exists and is being developed as a local research console. This is not the same as a notarized, supported installer.

Account-bound licensing

The account service can issue and revoke a license identity and watermark for an approved user. It does not currently deliver a binary.

Explicit network boundary

The intended architecture keeps workspace files local. Only a model-tool call deliberately submitted to Provotics would leave the device. PHI remains prohibited.

No download button is shown as active. The account dashboard will display preview status until a signed installer, integrity verification, update channel, and platform support process are operational.

Release gate

What must be complete before launch

  • Signed and notarized installer with published checksum and release notes.
  • Automatic or clearly documented secure-update process.
  • License activation, revocation, offline behavior, and recovery tested end to end.
  • Exact supported operating-system and hardware matrix.
  • Local-data deletion, diagnostics, crash handling, and support procedures.
  • Threat model and privacy review covering every network request.
